The polarizer needs to use two linear polarizers in the LCD module, which are located on both sides of the glass substrate. The lower polarizer is responsible for converting the backlight beam into polarized light, and the upper polarizer is responsible for analyzing the polarized light modulated by the liquid crystal. Polarizers are manufactured and supplied in roll stock, so considering the process yield and scrap rate, the demand for LCD polarizers is estimated to be 2.5 times that of LCD panels. In terms of OLED polarizers, OLED panels need to use a circular polarizer, which is mainly used to block the reflected light of ITO electrodes under strong light. Therefore, the demand for OLED polarizers is 1.3 times that of OLED panels. Since the unit price of polarizers used in OLED panels is higher than that used in LCDs, the OLED polarizer film market is expected to grow faster than the LCD polarizer market.
